In this course you will delve into the world of photo retouching and to do it you will need to know how to work with layers, masks and brushes with Photoshop. As an introduction to this technique from scratch, we recommend the course " Matte Painting: Creating Photorealistic Worlds " by Carlos Marsal in which you will learn to create imaginary worlds with a photorealistic result and which is only available on Domestika.
You will need to know the basics of Photoshop and work with layers, selections, masks, and brushes. In any case, during the course its applications will be seen, so a basic knowledge and a minimum agility with the program is more than enough.
Regarding the materials, you will need a computer with Photoshop, photographic resources and a great desire to get down to work. The use of a graphics tablet is more than recommended, although not essential.
You will begin by getting to know Carles Marsal's photomontage work a little better and the influences that inspire him. Next, starting with an initial idea, Carles will explain how to compose the image and you will learn how to compile the necessary basic graphic materials. Once you have the basic elements, you will discover how to "remove what is left and add what is missing" through professional selection tricks and vanishing points. Then it will be your turn to bring the image to life by applying retouching, correction and color techniques. To give the scene more realism, Carles will show you the natural and artificial lighting tricks that he uses until he achieves a spectacular result.
