The FotoEvidence Book Award with World Press Photo winner and two selected ?nalists will be exhibited during the 2023 World Press Photo Exhibition in conjunction with the launch of the book in Amsterdam.
To manage the transition through the pandemic, allow for longer time for the development of the book award book, and strengthen FotoEvidence’s programs, the board has chosen to make the FotoEvidence Book Award biennial. The next FotoEvidence Book Award is scheduled for 2022. Svetlana Bachevanova, the publisher, will hold consultation sessions for future applications during this year.
The biannial FotoEvidence Book Award with World Press Photo recognizes a documentary photographer whose project demonstrates courage and commitment in addressing a violation of human rights, a signi?cant injustice or an assault on human dignity. The selected project will be published as part of a series of FotoEvidence books dedicated to long-form projects of documentary photographers working in the humanistic tradition.
