Consent management

Write the form once, and the scope with it

Most consent forms are a document in one place and a note about what it covers in another. Here they are the same thing: you write the wording, and drop the fields, the usages and the countries into it. What the person ticks is what the platform then enforces.

Field types

What you can drop into the wording

Scroll sideways for the prefill column

The field types available in a consent form, and which of them prefill
FieldWhat the signer doesArrives prefilled
TextTypes a value — a name, a school, a case numberFrom their record
DatePicks a date from a calendarToday's date
DropdownChooses one of the options you setFrom their record
CheckboxTicks to agree to a statementCannot be prefilled
SignatureSigns with a finger or a mouseCannot be prefilled

A field that can prefill still shows the person what it filled in before they sign. Leave it empty instead and they complete it themselves — it is set per field, not per form.

Every field type, on every plan

What goes into a template

Four kinds of thing, inserted where they belong in the sentence rather than appended to the end of it.

  • 01

    Fields, in the wording

A name, a date, a checkbox, a signature box. Put each one where it reads properly — "I, ______, hereby consent" — and mark which are required.

  • 02

    Usages the signer ticks

Social media, print, a website, an annual report. Each usage you insert becomes a box in the document, so the person can agree to some and not others.

  • 03

    Countries it applies in

Add the countries the consent covers. An image cleared for Thailand and not for the UK is a thing the platform knows, not a thing somebody has to remember.

  • 04

    Draft until you publish it

Preview a template as the signer will see it, and publish when it is right. A draft cannot be sent to anybody by accident.

Prefill

The form can arrive already knowing who they are

A field can be filled from the person you are sending to, or left blank for them to complete. Prefilling the name and the date turns a form into something that takes fifteen seconds on a phone, which is the difference between getting it signed and getting it eventually.

  • Fields prefill from the details already held on that person
  • Or leave a field for manual entry, and they type it themselves
  • A prefilled value is still shown to them before they sign it
  • The same template works either way — it is set per field, not per form
