Support
Always happy to help
Support is part of every plan, rather than a tier sold on top of it. When you get in touch, you reach someone (a real person) who knows how your system is configured and is eager to help.
A support request
How one went
09:14
You write in. Jpegs will not upload into one library.
09:41
A named contact replies, having already looked at how your libraries are set up.
11:20
Fixed on a call, and the upload preset changed so it cannot recur.
IncludedSupport, upgrades and training are part of the licence

Always there to help
LightRocket is built to be used without a manual. Most of the time our interface explains itself, which is how great software should be.
But there will be days when something is not behaving, or when you could do with some expert advice on how to configure some fields, allocate permissions or set up a workflow.
Our support policy covers troubleshooting and those nuggets of advice that will help you get the most from your platform.
Service and support are among the most valuable part of our system that aren’t defined by an interface. Our team is the interface and when you need us, whatever your plan, we’ll be there to help.
Our support pledge
- Support and online training from the day you go live
- A named contact who knows how your system is set up
- A first response within one working day (often faster)
- Performance upgrades and new features at no extra cost
- Advice on workflow and configuration, not just bug fixes
- Help migrating your existing archive
Frequently asked questions
A starting point rather than a complete list. If your question is not here, ask us. You will get an answer from one of our expert team members.
What kinds of file can I store?
Photographs, video, audio, PDFs, office documents and design files. The platform generates a preview for anything it can render, so your team can see what a file is without downloading it first.
If you work with a format we do not handle yet, tell us and we will add it. There is no practical limit on file size or on how many files a library holds.
How do I control who can download a file?
Every file carries an access level and every user carries a role. Publishing a file makes it findable; it does not make it downloadable.
Download rights are granted per role and per library, so a contributor, an internal team and an external partner can each see a different version of the same archive. Previews are watermarked and thumbnails are protected against right-click saving.
Can I see who downloaded what?
Yes. Every download is recorded against both the file and the user, and administrators can add a note recording how the file was then used.
That gives you a usage history for each file, which is useful for spotting duplicate use and necessary if you ever have to account for how an image was licensed.
Is there a limit to the number of files I can upload?
There’s no limit to the number of files you can upload. The only limit is your storage allowance. With one or two terabytes you can store tens of thousands, if not more, of high-resolution images.
What happens when I reach my storage limit?
You can monitor your storage using the dashboard. If you’re getting close to your allocated limit, let us know and we’ll quote you for additional storage, which is priced at US$ 35 a month per TB.
Can I pay monthly?
Although we quote our prices monthly, the minimum contract period for LightRocket is one year. At the bottom of the price calculator, you’ll see a both a monthly and a yearly total.
How long does it take to get LightRocket set up?
We can get your platform installed in a matter of hours. After that, it’s a question of migrating any legacy or existing content. We usually find it takes a few weeks to get things properly configured. But don’t worry our onboarding team will be with you every step of the way.
What happens if there’s a problem?
We take the service part of software very seriously. You’ll usually get a response from a member of our support team within hours. If you’re reporting a bug, please give us as much information as possible: browser and version, screenshots and a detailed description of what you were trying to do when you encountered your issue. It’ll help us resolve your problem more quickly.
Can I add custom features?
A lot of our best features were added in response to ideas and feedback from our clients. If you want to add a feature, or have a great idea, contact us and we can discuss the value and potential costs. If you absolutely want a custom feature added, and we agree, we’ll issue a quote based on your requirements. But there are times when we’ll take a great idea and just add it anyway at no cost to the client, but in our own time.
